Next term, we are planning to run all clubs (craft, lego, and games) in the cafeteria, so that kids can move from one club to another, mostly at will (some game clubs, like D&D depend on having the same players during the entire term). We’d like to run all three clubs during each class period. To do this, WE NEED CLUB LEADER VOLUNTEERS. No leaders = no clubs.
Game Club – For logistical reasons, this club will need to be specific to each hour – so that all the D&D players, for example, know which hour to register. Some possible game clubs include D&D, Card-based games such as Magic, the Gathering or Pokemon, Chess, traditional card games, story-telling games such as Gloom or Once upon a Time, acting games like Charades, Apples to Apples, or anything else you can think of that can be played by a mixed-age group at a table or in a cafeteria. (We are open to Larping (live action role-playing games), though we’d have to think about spaces). The club leader can pick the time period for his/her game club from the available options — first come, first served! So if you want to pick the time that suits your kid, act soon!
Lego Club – We provide the legos; the kids provide the imagination. The club leader needs to set up and supervise the kids in clean-up, and referee disputes. No building skills necessary.
Craft Club – We provide a variety of craft materials; the kids provide the imagination. The club leader needs to set up and supervise the kids in clean-up, and referee disputes. No crafting skills necessary.
Contact Cat Aceto in person at PALS or by email (email@example.com) if you are interested in being a club leader.
If you’d like to be a club leader, but want to pick the class period based on the existing class selections, please use on the link on the List of Classes to view the Spring Class schedule. The schedule will also be on display at the front table on Wednesday.
To see what club lead positions have already been filled, use the link on the List of Classes page and look at the teacher column for the club selections. Slots that have been claimed have names in them, the ones that are still open say “Parent Job.”
